India

More than a month after the India government issued a six month ban on Chinese toys, the India Foreign Trade Association announced on the 2 day that the India government has decided to relax its import ban on Chinese toys.

If the toy importer can produce relevant certificates to prove that the imported toys conform to the internationally accepted quality standards, he can import Chinese toys.

In addition, importers also need to produce relevant certificates provided by the manufacturer, which proves that the imported toys are independently tested by the laboratory authorized by the international laboratory.

India Ministry of Commerce and industry announced in January 23rd that the country banned toys imported from China for 6 months.

India's minister of Commerce and industry, NAT, explained that the ban was based on "public health and safety".

The move led to a shortage of toy dealers in India for more than a month and the price of toys rose by 30% to 100%.
